How to Export Exchange 2003 Mailbox to PST using ExMerge Utility

ExMerge Utility is an ideal tool which provided by Microsoft for exporting mailbox or mailboxes into Outlook PST file format. The team of Microsoft specially developed this utility to extract emails from EDB files and save it in Outlook PST at desired path of the storage. Limitations of ExMerge Utility

• Export Mailbox to PST only 2 GB Sized
• ExMerge doesn’t support Exchange 2007, 2010 and 2013 versions
• First administrator need permission of “Send & receive” otherwise they will get the error message while exporting time.

Let’s start the procedure of how to export exchange 2003 mailbox to PST using ExMerge

Download and Install ExMerge on System

First user must be confirmed that his system installed with all admin tools of Exchange server

For performing EDB to exporting process users need ExMerger tool so Install and download this utility from the internet and click on the icon of “ExMerge.

After downloading, run this utility and also configure it on system once you done this task then log-in Exchange server along with full rights of administrator.

Step1) Add ExMerge tool to the database and access mailbox which mail you want to export into PST

Step2) Go to Exchange System Manager

Step3) Explore “Administrative Group” option >> Select “Mailbox” under the mailboxes section and right click on it then click on “properties” tab.

Step4) Go to “Security” tab and hit on “ADD” button to add the ExMerge to the mailbox as well as allow the “send and receive” permission and then click on “OK”.

Step5) Open ExMerge wizard and click on “Next” button.

Step6) In this window you can get the two options i.e.

• Extract and Import (One Step Procedure)
• Extract or Import (Two Step Procedure)

Step8) File the name of the server from the “Profile Information for the Source Server” and click on “Next”.

Step9) Now choose any “Storage Group” where you want to store exported mailbox to PST.

Step10) This window shows the all mailboxes and here you can select the particular mailbox which you want to convert into PST.

Step11) Click on”Next” button for further process

Step12) Select the path where you want to keep exported file and click on “Next”

Step13) click on “Save Setting” option and click on “Next”

Step14) This windows show the live progress status report of exporting process

Confirmation: - After completing the converting process it automatically close and also locates the file of PST in the exacting folder.
