How to Move Mailbox in Exchange 2013 Server using CSV with Exchange Admin Center

In Exchange 2013 server mailbox move process is performed using move request with Exchange admin center. In this blog post we will learn about Local mailbox migration using CSV. Getting started with the task move mailbox in Exchange 2013 server.

Follow below mention instruction step by step

Step1) Open Exchange Admin Center and select the “Recipients” tab from the left pane



Step2) Now selects “Mailboxes” option from the menu and select the “…” more option and choose the “Export Data to CSV File” option. This option helps to export mailboxes list to CSV format.


Step3) Select the column’s data which you want to export to CSV format, once you select the exported data from the list then click on “Export” tab from the bottom.


Step4) CSV format is created now, you can see the list of exported data in a CSV format file.
Note: You can also remove the mailbox from the list if you want


Step5) Go to “Migration” tab and click on “+” icon and select the “Move to a different database” option


 Step6) Now “New Local Mailbox Move” window will appear on the screen. Here you get the two options

a)    Select the users that you want to move
b)    Specify the users with a CSV file

We will choose “Specify the users with a CSV file” option and browse the .csv file


If you receive error message then you need to modify CSV file like as



Step7) File the name of “New migration batch” and choose the first option from the “Archive” section.


Step8) Enter the user name who receives the migration report after completing the migration process 
Select the “Automatically start the batch” option and check mark on “automatically complete the migration batch”.

Step9) After completing above mentioned process then it show the syncing progress status report on the screen 


Step10) Once syncing process is done then it show the “Synced” status, now clicks on “Complete the Migration Batch “ option from the right pane.


 Step11) It will change the synced status as “Completing” and ultimately completed



Now move mailbox in Exchange 2013 server process is done.
